Spring and Things

February 23, 2012

Spring has to be here by now, the wind has wiped out the snow at my house and certainly flowers are on their way!  John, Jane & I were in Las Vegas last week buying clothes for now and mostly for Fall deliveries.  As always, it's weird to be thinking sweaters when you're so glad to be thinking about Spring dresses.  We picked up some new lines I think you'll like; AG jeans, Rich & Skinny jeans, massive printed jeans from Level 99, white cotton and silk shirts to be worn with all those jeans, Susana Monaco wonderful knits, Ella Moss, Loco Lindo dresses, Pete & Greta very cool jackets, and amazingly--Pendleton from Oregon.  They've reinvented themselves in a contempory way and it will be fun to see what you think this Fall.  We also bought a couple of new lines for men; some coming very soon.  You'll have to come look.  Every day is Christmas at Garden Dance!  After the show, I rented a Ford Fiesta with no windshield washer fluid and unaligned tires to drive from Vegas to Lake Havasu City, AZ to see my Dad and his 79 year old girlfriend, Betty, who has had 5 heart attacks, but is good to go.  It was a "trip" as always with my Dad.  That man is so much fun for an 80 year old who's spacey and loses almost everything he owns everyday.  We went to a town called Oatman, an old mining town that when they closed the mines, they turned loose the burros that strangely thrived.  Everyday, many of the little charity cases come into town where people buy bags of alfalfa cubes and feed them.  I bought two.  Some of the burros don't understand sharing and try to take your whole bag.  The babies can't digest alfalfa and wear a sticker on their foreheads that says not to feed them.  It was so fun.  I hope you go sometime in your lives.  For me anyway, simple, crazy things like feeding burros in an old, funky town is the best kind of experience!  Lastly, here's a picture of Mary Margaret, who's recovering from a hysterectomy and was adopted after weaning 6 puppies.  Her lady parts are pooped.  She is a sweet little thing.  Come say hi to the new shop dog!alt text
